In light of the terminated negotiations of the EU-Swiss Institutional Framework Agreement, signatories of the joint statement underline the importance of continuing the long established and mutually beneficial cooperation in research and innovation between the EU and Switzerland.
Downgrading Switzerland to a Third Country would severely limit the expertise Switzerland brings into Horizon Europe projects. The Guild, together with the signatories, is convinced that this would lead to a lose-lose situation, putting successful cooperation in strategic areas at risk and ultimately weaken the ERA as a whole.
