Featuring our latest statements on The Guild's recommendations for the funding of European Universities alliances, Europe's research security policy and a joint open letter to the European Commission in which we urge the Commission to prioritise research and education in its ex-ante impact assessment process. Our December issue features our recent publications. We published two statements: one focusing on responsible internationalisation, and the second one with our comments about the Council's Recommendation on research careers. This issue also contains a news article about Université PSL joining The Guild and highlights from our Gender and Diversity Working Group.

Furthermore, The Guild published a position paper on Erasmus+ as a contribution to its interim evaluation.

Our May issue features five recently published statements. These statements cover the most pressing issues for the academic sector: the academic publishing system, the EU Data Act, the European Exellence Initiative, academic freedom and animal research. This issue also contains an interview about digitally enriched teaching at the University of Bern.

Furthermore, The Guild published two video campaigns. The first campaign highlights our working group members and their recommendations for Horizon Europe. Lastly, the second campaign gathers our members insights, shared during a panel session at the “DAAD Moving Target Digitalisation 2022: Increasing the Impact of Internationalisation in Higher Education”.

Our March issue features highlights on The Guild’s latest Vice-Presidents' meeting. On the agenda: the strategic priorities for the European Education Area and the Commission’s quest to create a European Excellence Initiative. This issue also contains The Guild's contribution to the Horizon Europe midterm evaluation as well as a joint statement on UK association to EU R&I programmes.

Furthermore, you can read an opinion piece written by The Guild's Secretary-General Jan Palmowski and LERU's Secretary-General Kurt Deketelaere on their vision for FP10, as well as Jan Palmowski's reflections on the outcomes of the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe and what should be addressed in its second pillar. In its first newsletter of the year, The Guild is happy to highlight its latest statement on Horizon Europe missions, its Vice-President meeting which took place in January as well as a joint statement on EIC's Intellectual Property regulations.
